Can you believe I made it to 100 consecutive days taking a photo!? I barely can! There have been pros and cons to starting this project, but overall something I have really, really enjoyed doing. It’s helped me grow as a photographer, and also realize how much more learning I have to do! Almost every day I think about watching educational videos on photoshop, lightroom, and how to take better photos. For every photo I’ve shot, I’ve learned a bit more on how to take a better photo. Always post photo shoot! haha! I’ve had moments recently about stopping this project due to time constraints, but at this time – I’m going to keep going. As of writing this, I’m actually on day 138! So there are a lot of Mondays with 10 day recaps to be posted. I hope you are enjoying these daily moments of my life, and if you feel like it, leave a comment on what you think. ❤

Well This is Fun

My wrist in a brace over the marble table top. My old injury flared up and I have never been in so much pain from it before. This day was the absolute worst. DID NOT STOP ME FROM TAKING A PHOTO THOUGH! haha

Death Becomes Her

My beautiful peonies dying and drying out. I still think these are beautiful, even when they are dead. I leave them displayed probably way longer than I should because I still love to look at them.

Ether Swing

Massive swing on the coast with the word “Ether” in graffiti on it, womewhere north of Santa Cuz, CA. This was such a fun place to find off the beaten track.

Snoop Lion

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Santa Cruz Wharf, CA

Resting sea lion on the Santa Cruz Wharf. Found these adorable creatures while walking the pier early in the morning. They were so noisy!! I loved hearing them bark at each other. One in particular was trying to get onto a wooden plank to rest on, and he kept falling backwards back into the ocean while trying to stick the landing. It was hilarious!

The kitchen counter with food and utensils while preparing dinner. Got a new cookbook called Jerusalem on the recommendation of my friend April, and it is so good!

Stripper Church Store

Shot with iPhone 11 Pro; edited in camera app; Downtown Fresno, CA

Estate sale in Downtown Fresno. This sweet girl lost both her parents to Covid 19 and is now having to sell the house that she lived in with her parents and all their belongings. My heart hurts for this young woman so much.

Stagnation Nation

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Downtown Fresno

Abandoned and under construction skyscraper in Downtown Fresno. I hit my 100 days mark and felt a bit discouraged at the time, thinking I wasn’t progressing enough. But now looking back, I think the photos have been getting better over time. There are things I would change now if I could go back and edit older photos again, but in general, I feel like my eye for photography is getting better.

  1. Boy Honey, you are right about how taking pictures helps to take better pictures. These are so good! The one of your eye is outstanding. The colors, my goodness! I also love the food pictures, better than ones I’ve seen on blogs and food books. I especially like that you caption them. The picture of the girl selling her parents things means so much more when you understand what’s going on. Enjoy seeing your life through pictures so much!
