Another ten days of my 365 photo a day challenge! Even though I’m on day 180 something, it’s been really fun to go back and see what I’ve shot in the past. I feel like this collection of ten days showed some growth with more abstract photography, but also some really nice shots with good lighting. I’m especially in love with the photo of my husband playing the bass and watching fireworks. I feel like people make photos seem so much more alive.

Hope you are having a splendid Monday!

My Personal Photo for a Bigger Project

Part One

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

The side of a chair and decorative jar (I don’t really know what to call that thing) in blues and amber colors. I’ve been commissioned to shoot for a series of music projects. This wasn’t the photo used for the project, but something I shot while working with the artist to have his vision come alive. I love the colors and lines in this photo. I also enjoyed the process of doing a photo shoot. It took a couple of sessions and editing together with the musical artist, but I feel like the photo chosen in this series turned out well.

Globular

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

Globular and misty shapes in water. I had dry ice delivered with some meats, so I decided to take some crazy photos while I cooled down hard boiled eggs. I love how this shot turned out. Abstract and weird!

Jam Session

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

My husband playing the upright bass with fingers in movement. I absolutely love this shot of him, but I also love that he got to have people come over and play together. It was a nice afternoon of music playing through the house.

Splash

Shot with iPhone 11 Pro; edited in phone app; Splash Bar, Fresno, CA

Disco ball hanging in a club with a crowd of people dancing underneath. I wanted to take a photo for this get-together of Derek, Nona, Spencer, and I, but also knew my big camera wasn’t going to make it out that night. Thankful for the camera in my phone! I had a great time getting to hang out with my old coworkers/friends but it was also nerve wracking to be in a crowd again. This was before the delta variant spread through the area.

Day After

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

Macro shot of my salt lamp. This was a shot out of desperation as the day crept on and I hadn’t gotten a photo yet, but I think it looks pretty cool! This salt lamp is always on in my office and I love the shape and colors of the crystals in it.

Summah Time

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

My husband’s swim trunks and towel drying out after we took a dip in the blow up pool. I feel like this photo just imbues summer time vibes. And all that green with the pop of blue!

The Show

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Kingsburg, CA

A shot from behind my husban’s head of him watching fireworks that are blurred in the background. Such a fun time hanging out with family for the 4th of July! And I’m really chuffed with how this shot turned out.

Geometric

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

Geometric shapes and lines on the side of a building with brick, iron, and tile. I find this aesthetically pleasing and pleased I stumbled upon it on Van Ness.

Cork Dork

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

Macro shot of a cork in a wine bottle with a little being burned into the side of the cork. Last minute shot towards the end of the day. The colors are just *chef’s kiss*.

Light Dance

Shot with Canon Rebel T2i; edited in photoshop/lightroom; Fresno, CA

Light shining on top of a humming bird feeder. This was a reshoot day for Timmy’s musical project. I liked how the light was dancing on this feeder and showing the dust in the early morning light.
